Curriculum for Excellence:Design of the Senior Phase of Education
The curriculum in schools across Scotland is changing.  You will have seen this in the way your children have been learning in primary school over recent years.  This change has also extended to secondary schools and the continuing implementation of Curriculum for Excellence will lead to changes for the way young people gain qualiffications in the senior phase.
Pupils who began secondary school in August 2010 will be the first group who will be presented for new national qualifications in May/June 2014.  These pupils, who are currently in S2, will make subject choices as they move to the Senior Phase (S4-S6) of their education that will lead to formal qualifications.
The design of the senior phase in Renfrewshire schools will affect not just the pupils currently in S1 and S2, but all pupils who are currently in primary school.  It is important therefore that you have an opportunity to hear about the changes to the qualifications system and participate in discussions on the way the curriculum is organised in the senior phase.
Renfrewshire Council is keen to hear your views on how they design the senior phase of secondary school and are inviting you to a meeting to discuss the design of the senior phase of education in Renfrewshire secondary schools.  The meeting will be held on 
 Wednesday 23 May 2012 at 7.00pm in Trinity High School.
